Taking photos of the show on stage

Taking photos of the show on stage is a unique branch of photography. Knowledge of photography is not enough to do lunch. In addition to need the experience of shooting-shooting earlier, stage photography also need "local experience".

Local experience in question is the understanding of the scenes that will be photographed. In a theater for example, a photographer needs to get a "key scenes", which is a photograph that could represent the overall performance. Here, time or when the camera take a shot is crucial. Two scenes are disputing a second time could be very different appearance.

Preliminary survey before the shooting could be done by studying the scenarios or ask some of his players. If there was rehearsal, the survey can be done (taking pictures of course) at the rehearsal. If there is a scene regardless of the shooting, could be repeated on the original show. Moreover, studying the rehearsal helps a photographer to get the best place to stand and also the direction of the right light.

However, many shows that should only be photographed on rehearsal only. For this, the survey must be performed would not want is to learn the show's story line and equipment  in the building. Studying scene after scene is also very necessary to help make photo compositions. On several occasions, the selection of the composition of the photo should really be decided in a short time when I saw that scene took place. An example is the following photo that choose not symmetrical composition by incorporating elements of smoke as eleman on the right. The decision to choose the composition will be more easy with the increasing frequency of a photographer photographing.
